DJ Jack Lucas (Jeff Bridges) strikes up a friendship with homeless tramp Parry (Robin Williams). To break through Parry's elaborate delusions, Lucas teaches him the game of chess. Tragically, playing chess doesn't help Parry with his core problem: he's batshit crazy and desperately needs a bath.
